Ally Em is my first adventurous eater. She has never met a new food she's not willing to try and usually it meets with her approval. Kevin turned his nose up at everything we offered him and his diet consisted of fish sticks. It was pathetic. Now he's 14 and eats everything that isn't hidden. Ben was and still is a creature of habit. SAME SAME SAME is good, different is not. I don't know WHAT I did differently with Ally. My thoughts are that probably, I did nothing at all and it's really up to the child what they put in their mouth. It's the one thing they can control and we cannot (well, to an extent anyways). My dr. (and many others) will tell you not to look at their day as a measurement of how balanced their diet was, but to look back on their week instead. That was how I got through Kevin's toddler years.

Thanks, pictures are on FB
Yeah I've heard great things about the 35L.
Are you running and shooting at the same time? :)
Any reason you chose to focus on the hand as opposed to the eye?
thx

Hey Vlad, congrats on your new little one! Would love to see pics of Jake!! :)

I should clarify... I didn't mean to say that my 35mm is too wide overall. It's actually my favorite lens and is perfect for environmental portraiture or day-in-the-life stuff. I hardly ever take it off the camera. But if you're looking for just a closeup of the baby then definitely an 85mm on a full-frame sensor is the way to go. Or even the 100mm macro... or 135mm... depending on the size of your house of course! :)

You're lucky you can shoot at 1/125 without camera shake. Personally I'm way too inconsistent at that speed. Probably because I get so excited for a moment and try to move and shoot at the same time :) When I am just shooting portraits, though, I can head down to 1/60ish with no problem, using the 35mm.

Hey,
I understand what you mean about the 35 being too wide. I just purchased the Sigma 30 (crop sensor) and find that i have to get so close to Jake sometimes that there is some distortion. I had the 50mm 1.8 before which i found too narrow in the house as I usually had numerous adults in the frame so i sold it, but thinking back its probably the perfect focal length for baby pictures. But f1.4 is pretty cool too :).
PS - I still cant get my photos to look that good at such high shutter speeds, but find that 1/125 eliminates the blurr
